Man Killed in High-Speed Crash on Stetson Avenue in Hemet Identified
Hemet, California: Authorities said 23-year-old Samuel Ramirez of Moreno Valley was the man who died in a high-speed collision that happened Thursday night in Hemet.
The wreck was reported around 10 p.m. on Stetson Avenue near Kirby Street.
Hemet police said Ramirez was driving a silver Honda Accord westbound on Stetson at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the car, skidded onto oncoming traffic, and got broadsided by a blue Mazda CX3.
Ramirez was transported to Riverside University Health System Medical Center by responding paramedics. He was later pronounced dead at the facility late Thursday. Authorities said speed and Ramirez’s failure to wear his seatbelt were factors contributing to the accident.
The driver of the Mazda was also hospitalized with minor injuries.
Both drivers were the only occupants of the vehicles.
Investigators closed both eastbound and westbound lanes of Stetson between Sanderson Avenue and Kirby Street for about five hours following the collision.

Sacramento County, California: Two people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Thursday afternoon at an intersection in Antelope.
According to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at Antelope and Roseville roads.
Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

Kenneth Joseph McLeod Killed in Irvine Motorcycle Accident
Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.
The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.
Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.
The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.
McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Woman on Motorized Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Car in Victorville
Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.
The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.
Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
