Javier Calderon Crushed to Death by Concrete Wall in Pacoima
Man Killed in Pacoima Construction Accident
Pacoima, California: 49-year-old construction worker Javier Calderon died after a concrete wall collapsed on him Wednesday morning in Pacoima, according to authorities.
Calderon and another man were working at a construction site in the 10500 block of Glenoaks Boulevard when a cinder-block wall collapsed on them at around 8:45 a.m.
The two men got trapped, but one was able to free themselves.
Firefighters responded and tried to free Calderon, but he was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:30 a.m.
The other worker sustained unspecified injuries.
Calderon is survived by his wife, five daughters, and three grandchildren.
His family established a GoFundMe page following his demise.
