Man Killed in San Martin Crash After Truck Driver Runs Red Light
San Martin, California: A San Jose man died in a traffic collision involving a truck that ran a red light Thursday afternoon in San Martin, the California Highway Patrol said.
The incident was reported around 1:12 p.m. at Monterey Highway and Highland Avenue.
CHP said a 48-year-old San Jose man was driving a Kia Forte when another 59-year-old San Jose man driving a Ford F-150 ran a red light at the intersection and crashed into the Kia.
The Kia driver was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, where he later died.
The Ford driver sustained head trauma and was also taken to the same hospital. His passengers, a 36-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman, both from San Jose, suffered minor injuries.
