Man Killed in Side-Swipe Collision on Road 36 in Tulare County

Tulare County, California: A driver died after side-swiping another vehicle Thursday night in Tulare County, according to authorities.

The collision took place at about 9 p.m. on Road 36, south of Avenue 248.

Police said a 47-year-old man was driving a Toyota northbound on Road 36 when, for an unknown reason, side-swiped a Nissan driven in the opposite direction by an 18-year-old man.

The Toyota drifted off the roadway and hit a tree before overturning.

The Toyota driver died in the crash.

The Nissan driver and his passengers were unhurt.

Authorities said alcohol may have contributed to the accident.
