Humberto Vasquez Died in a Traffic Crash near Panama Lane and Akers Road
Man Killed in Southwest Bakersfield Crash Identified
Bakersfield, California: 54-year-old Humberto Munoz Vasquez was the man who died in a two-vehicle collision that happened early Sunday morning in southwest Bakersfield, according to the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
The Bakersfield man was involved in the collision at about 3:15 a.m. near Panama Lane and Akers Road.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, a woman was driving a car south on Akers Road when she struck Vasquez’s vehicle, also traveling south.
The woman’s vehicle lost control and hit a tree.
First responders found Vasquez with serious injuries. He later succumbed to his injuries.
The female driver and her passenger, a man, were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
Investigators believe speed and alcohol contributed to the accident.
