Man Killed in Suspected DUI Crash in Modesto

Modesto, California: A 37-year-old man died in a DUI accident that happened Saturday afternoon near an intersection in Modesto, police said.

Authorities said the deceased was driving a GMC Yukon east on Briggsmore Avenue when, at around 5 p.m., collided with another vehicle at Tully Road.

The GMC went south on Tully Road after the crash and hit another vehicle near Oakwood Drive.

The impact of the second collision caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, which overturned, ejecting the man.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Two other parties involved suffered minor injuries.

Authorities said alcohol is suspected to be a contributing factor.
