Martin Hernandez Killed, Amber Alva Arrested After Fiery Sanger Car Collision on Highway 180
Man Killed, Woman Arrested After Reckless Driving Crash in Sanger
Sanger, California: The Fresno County Coroner’s Office said 49-year-old Martin Hernandez of Sanger was the man who died after another driver rear-ended his vehicle early Saturday morning in Sanger.
23-year-old Amber Alva of Sanger was arrested following the collision.
Investigators said Alva was driving a Dodge Charger eastbound on Highway 180 when she rear-ended a Honda Odyssey.
The Odyssey went out of control off the roadway and hit a tree. The car immediately caught fire.
Hernandez was the driver of the Odyssey and died in the burning vehicle.
Four people in the Charger were hospitalized with moderate injuries.
Authorities said unsafe speed and reckless driving contributed to the accident.
Alva was arrested and booked into jail. Her bail was set at $10,000. She posted $1,000 to be released. Her court date was set for June 29.
