Man on Bicycle Hit, Seriously Injured by Car in Gilbert

Gibert, Arizona: A 66-year-old man was hospitalized after he was struck by a car while riding a bicycle Saturday afternoon at an intersection in Gilbert.

According to Gilbert police, the accident occurred around 1:25 p.m. near Higley and Queen Creek roads.

Emergency personnel transported the cyclist to a local hospital in critical condition.

Investigators believe impairment contributed to the accident but did not specify if it was on the part of the driver or the bicyclist.

The driver stopped and stayed at the scene.
