Man Riding Bicycle Hit and Seriously Injured by Car in Chula Vista
Chula Vista, California: A 71-year-old man was hospitalized with serious injuries after he was struck by a car while riding a bicycle Sunday afternoon in Chula Vista.
According to Chula Vista police, the accident was reported around 12:27 p.m. in the 1600 block of Wueste Road.
U.S. Border Patrol officers were the first to arrive at the scene after 911 calls about the crash were made.
The officers found a 71-year-old man with serious injuries. The victim was hospitalized in an unknown condition.
The bicyclist was struck by a car driven by a Vista woman in her 30s.
The woman was arrested for charges unrelated to the crash.
Police are investigating the accident.
