The accident took place around 8 p.m. at 12th Avenue and Washington Street.
A man riding a motorized scooter was hit by a car in the area under unclear circumstances.
Phoenix police and firefighters responded to the scene and found the scooter rider with serious injuries.
The man was taken to the hospital where he later died.
