Santa Clara County, California – A man died after being struck by a car as he secured a load on his vehicle near San Martin on Wednesday afternoon.
The accident happened around 12:32 p.m. on Highway 101 near San Martin Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The 36-year-old Riverside man was standing outside his parked vehicle and was securing cargo when a passing box truck made an unsafe turning movement and struck him.
The man was transported to the hospital, where he died.
The box truck driver stayed at the accident scene and cooperated with the authorities.
