Manikanta Gandham Killed in Studio City Crash on 101 Freeway near Colfax Ave
Studio City, California – Manikanta Gandham, 35, has been identified as the man who died in a car crash in Studio City on Thursday morning.
The fatal crash happened at around 3:02 a.m. on the Ventura (101) Freeway near Colfax Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Gandham was driving a 2016 Mercedes-Benz sedan when he collided with a 2020 Freightliner sweeper truck in an active Caltrans construction zone.
The sedan reportedly caught fire after the collision.
Gandham, a resident of Simi Valley, died at the accident scene.
The 26-year-old driver of the sweeper truck was hospitalized with minor injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
