Mark Mason Killed in Crash at East 22nd Street and South Cherrybell Stravenue
Tucson, Arizona – A man involved in a multi-vehicle collision on Wednesday last week has succumbed to his injuries, according to Tucson Police Department.
The accident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. on June 12, on East 22nd Street and South Cherrybell Stravenue.
Police said Mark Leonard Mason, 52, was traveling westbound in a BMW when he turned left onto South Cherrybell Stravenue and crashed into a Honda Accord heading eastbound in the middle lane.
The Honda then drove eastbound causing debris to hit a third car that was halted on the South Cherrybell northbound right lane.
Mason suffered critical injuries and was rushed to Banner University Medical Center. He succumbed to his injuries three days later on June 15.
The other motorists involved received medical evaluation at the crash site and were not taken to the hospital.
Police said Mason failed to yield to an amber traffic signal when turning left causing the crash.
