Mason Young Dies in Motorcycle Versus Car Collision at Whitewood Road and Hellebore Street

Menifee Man Killed in Murrieta Motorcycle Accident Identified

Murrieta, California: Authorities said 23-year-old Mason Young was the motorcyclist who died after broadsiding a car Thursday evening at an intersection in Murrieta.

According to the Murrieta Police Department, the incident happened at around 6:31 p.m. at Whitewood Road and Hellebore Street.

Young was riding his motorcycle southbound on Whitewood when a 17-year-old girl driving a sedan failed to yield the right-of-way and made a left turn onto northbound Whitewood from Hellebore.

Young broadsided the sedan.

Emergency personnel attempted to resuscitate Young but were unsuccessful.

The sedan driver told police that she did not see Young riding southbound when she turned.

Intoxication and speeding were not considered contributing factors. Police said the primary factor was the failure to yield the right-of-way.
