Michael Hutchinson Dies After Bicycle Crash on Cave Creek Road and Dynamite Boulevard
Phoenix, California – The Phoenix Police Department has identified 37-year-old Michael Hutchinson as the bicyclist killed in a suspected DUI collision on Monday night in Phoenix.
The crash occurred at around 11:35 p.m. on August 12 on Cave Creek Road and Dynamite Boulevard.
Authorities said a GMC Terrain SUV was heading southbound on Cave Creek Road when an 18-year-old man operating it got distracted by his radio, and he crashed into Hutchinson’s bicycle.
Hutchinson suffered fatal injuries due to the collision.
The GMC driver remained at the crash site.
Authorities believed he was speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the collision.
