Michael Stroup Killed in ATV Quad Crash on Highway 138 in Phelan
Phelan, California – The ATV rider who died in a collision on Friday afternoon in Phelan has been identified as 20-year-old Michael Allen Stroup.
The San Bernardino County Fire Department said the crash happened around 12:56 p.m., on June 7 on Highway 138 between Rancho Del La Garto and Kruse Drive.
Stroup was riding a four-wheeled ATV when he was struck by an eastbound 2024 Nissan Rogue.
The impact of the crash sent the SUV off the roadway while the ATV overturned, ejecting Stroup.
The rider suffered major head injuries and was rushed to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where he died.
The Nissan driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
More details regarding the crash were not provided.
An investigation into the crash is underway.

According to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at Antelope and Roseville roads.
Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.
The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.
Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.
The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.
McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.
The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.
Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
