Moped Rider Dies After Being Hit by DUI Suspect in San Diego
San Diego, California: A DUI suspect was arrested after striking and killing a moped rider Thursday night in San Diego’s Bay Terraces neighborhood.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the accident happened at around 11 p.m. in the 7100 block of Paradise Valley Road.
Police said a 66-year-old man was driving his 2016 Nissan Maxima when he failed to see a 40-year-old man riding a moped and hit him from behind.
The moped rider got ejected and died from his injuries.
The Maxima’s driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, police said.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
