Mother and Son Killed in Westlake Pedestrian Accident at Burlington and Wilshire
Westlake, California – Authorities have disclosed the identities of a mother and a son who died after being struck by a suspected drunk driver in the Westlake area of Los Angeles on Sunday evening.
Alicia Bautista, 63, and her son were on a sidewalk at Burlington Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard at around 5:20 p.m. when they were struck by a speeding Cadillac driven by 31-year-old Isaiah Villegas.
32-year-old Elio Bautista was pronounced dead at the accident scene, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Alicia was transported to an area hospital where she died while receiving treatment
Isaiah attempted to flee the scene but was later located and arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.

Sacramento County, California: Two people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Thursday afternoon at an intersection in Antelope.
According to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at Antelope and Roseville roads.
Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.
The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.
Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.
The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.
McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Woman Hospitalized After Victorville Pedestrian Accident at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road
Woman on Motorized Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Car in Victorville
Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.
The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.
Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
