Motorcycle Deputy Injured in Moorpark Crash on Los Angeles Ave
Moorpark, California: A veteran Moorpark motorcycle deputy was hospitalized with severe injuries after being hit by a car Wednesday afternoon while responding to another crash.
The incident occurred around 3:25 p.m. on Los Angeles Avenue at Millard Street.
According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, the motorcycle deputy was on his way to the scene of a collision with lights and sirens on when a car turned left in front of the motorcycle, causing a crash.
The deputy suffered major injuries in the accident. He was hospitalized in stable condition.
The woman driving the car was not hurt. Police said the driver was not initially cited or arrested.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
