Motorcyclist Critically Hurt After Colliding with Big Rig in San Diego

San Diego, California: A 23-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured in a traffic collision that happened Friday morning in the Chollas Creek area, the San Diego Police Department said.

The incident took place around 5:45 a.m. in the 3800 block of 54th Street.

Investigators said the 23-year-old man was riding his 2015 MV Dragster 800 RR north when a big rig with a cargo trailer pulled out of a parking lot directly in front of his path.

The motorcyclist crashed into the cargo trailer, sustaining broken bones and potentially life-threatening internal injuries. He was hospitalized in critical condition.

Authorities are investigating the collision.
