Motorcyclist Critically Hurt After Colliding with Car in Mesa

Mesa, Arizona: A motorcyclist was critically hurt after colliding with a car Sunday morning near an intersection in Mesa.

According to Mesa police, the collision took place around 9 a.m. near Emerson and Baseline roads, just east of Alma School Road.

A car and a motorcycle collided under unclear circumstances.

The rider sustained critical injuries.

The car occupants suffered minor injuries.

Police said an ambulance that was responding to the accident collided with another vehicle near the U.S. 60 and Country Club, just about a mile and a half away from the motorcycle accident. 

No one was hurt in the second crash.

Investigators closed Baseline Road in both directions as they worked the scene.
