Motorcyclist Dies After Colliding with Car Turning into Driveway in Chula Vista
Chula Vista, California: A motorcyclist died in a collision that happened Monday afternoon in Chula Vista.
According to authorities, the wreck occurred around 12:23 p.m. in the 200 block of Orange Avenue.
Police said a 56-year-old Chula Vista woman was driving a silver Nissan Versa west on Orange Avenue when she pulled into the median to turn southbound into a driveway.
The woman continued to make the turn, but the rider of a black and silver Honda motorcycle traveling eastbound on Orange Avenue struck the passenger side of the Nissan.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and attempted life-saving measures, but the rider died from his injuries at the scene.
Police do not think drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
The car driver stopped and cooperated with investigators.
