Motorcyclist Hit and Killed by Car in South Sacramento

South Sacramento, California: A motorcyclist died after being struck by a vehicle Thursday morning in South Sacramento, the Sacramento Fire Department said.

The incident took place at around 7 a.m. on Fruitridge Road near Nona Way.

The motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Fruitridge when a car turned left into the bike.

Firefighters said the rider was thrown about 20 feet from the point of collision, and his helmet came off during the crash.

The victim, a male in his 20s, died in the collision.

The driver of the car stopped and cooperated with authorities.

Police do not believe drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.
