Motorcyclist Hospitalized After Crash in San Diego

San Diego, California: A motorcyclist was seriously injured after colliding with a car late Friday night in San Diego’s Ridgeview-Webster neighborhood.

San Diego police officers responded to the 4500 block of Home Avenue after receiving reports of the collision.

The officers learned that a 25-year-old man riding a 2017 Yamaha motorcycle east collided with a 2011 Hyundai Tucson driven by a 46-year-old woman.

Authorities said before the collision occurred, the woman was stopped in the bicycle lane facing east along the south curb. She made a U-turn directly in front of the motorcyclist, causing him to strike the car’s driver’s side front fender.

The rider was hospitalized with multiple fractures and cuts on his ankle. The injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

Investigators said impairment was not a contributing factor.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
