Motorcyclist Killed, Driver Arrested After Traffic Collision in Lancaster

Lancaster, California: One person was killed in a Lancaster motorcycle crash that happened late Thursday afternoon involving a DUI suspect.

The wreck occurred near Avenue K and Sixth Street East at around 5:15 p.m.

Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department – Lancaster Station responded to the scene shortly after receiving reports of the accident.

The authorities said a male motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Avenue K when the driver of a Lincoln Zephyr made a left turn from westbound Avenue K directly in front of the rider.

The collision killed the rider at the scene.

Deputies determined that the driver of the car had been driving under the influence of alcohol.

The driver was arrested for gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
