Motorcyclist Killed, Driver Arrested for DUI After San Jose Crash
San Jose, California: A motorcyclist died, and a DUI suspect was arrested after a traffic collision that happened early Sunday morning in East San Jose.
San Jose police said the incident was reported just after 1 a.m. near Jackson Avenue and Alexian Drive.
Investigators established that the driver of a 2003 Dodge pickup truck was traveling northbound on Jackson when he attempted to turn left into an apartment complex. His truck ended up hitting a 2013 Kawasaki motorcycle going southbound.
The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. He was later pronounced dead while receiving treatment.
The pickup truck driver remained at the scene. He was evaluated for DUI and arrested. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.
The names of the victim and suspect were not immediately released.
