Motorcyclist Killed in Airway Heights Crash

Airway Heights, Washington: 47-year-old Jerry Armstrong died after he lost control of his motorcycle and collided with a car Tuesday night on U.S. 2 near Spokane Tribe Casino in Airway Heights.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. near Craig Road.

WSP said Armstrong was riding his motorcycle at a high rate of speed, approaching the roundabout west of Craig Road.

The rider lost control of the bike as he entered the roundabout, fell sideways, and hit another vehicle.

Armstrong died in the accident.

Authorities said he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver of the car involved was uninjured.

Authorities said speed was a contributing factor.

The eastbound lanes remained closed during the investigation. The lanes were reopened around 3 a.m.
