Motorcyclist Killed in Bakersfield Crash Identified

Bakersfield, California: Authorities identified the motorcyclist who died in a rear-end collision on Panama Lane in Bakersfield as 18-year-old Brian Alejandro Martinez Palomares of Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico.

The deadly collision happened around 1:10 p.m. Sunday on westbound Panama Lane east of Fairfax Road.

Police said the motorcyclist was riding a Harley Davidson at an unknown speed behind a GMC truck.

The truck driver started slowing down for a crash that had just happened ahead. The motorcyclist did not slow down in time, struck the rear of the truck, and got ejected.

The rider was killed in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
