31-Year-Old Rider Killed, Driver Hospitalized After Palm Springs Motorcycle Accident
Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on North Gene Autry Trail and East Via Escuela in Palm Springs
Palm Springs, California: A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a car Sunday evening at an intersection in Palm Springs, the Palm Springs Police Department said.
The wreck occurred around 8 p.m. at North Gene Autry and East Via Escuela.
Investigators said the motorcyclist was traveling north on North Gene Autry Trail when a car heading the opposite direction attempted to make a left turn onto East Via Escuela and a collision happened.
The rider, a 31-year-old Auburn resident, was killed in the accident.
The car driver, a 64-year-old Rancho Mirage resident, was hospitalized with moderate injuries.
Police said alcohol and drugs were not considered contributing factors.
North Gene Autry Trail remained closed until 1:30 a.m. Monday following the accident.
