Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on West Valley Boulevard in Rialto Identified

Rialto, California: 59-year-old Roger Norris, of La Verne, died in a head-on collision that happened Sunday afternoon in Rialto, the Rialto Police Department reported.

The wreck was reported around 5:32 p.m. in the 200 block of West Valley Boulevard, near Riverside Avenue.

Investigators said Norris was riding a motorcycle eastbound, and 48-year-old Monica Granger of Riverside was driving a white Toyota Highlander westbound.

Authorities said for an unknown reason, Granger veered across the painted median into opposing traffic and collided head-on with Norris.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and took Norris to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He later died at the facility at 5:58 p.m.

Granger was not injured. She was arrested on suspicion of murder and vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence. The suspect was booked into the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, where she was being held in lieu of $1 million and $60,000 bail.
