Rider Dies After Tucson Motorcycle Accident near South Palo Verde Road and East Valencia Road
Motorcyclist Killed in Crash with Car in Tucson
Tucson, Arizona: The Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner said 21-year-old Nicholas Benjamin Kershaw died from injuries he sustained last week in Tucson.
The Tucson Police Department responded to South Palo Verde Road and East Valencia Road on March 6 after they received reports of a motorcycle versus a car.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Kershaw was riding the motorcycle westbound on Valencia Road when a 74-year-old woman driving a Mitsubishi Outlander eastbound attempted to turn left onto Palo Verde and the vehicles collided.
Kershaw was hospitalized at Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The rider’s injuries were no longer considered life-threatening after arriving at the hospital.
The car driver was not hurt.
Witnesses told police that the motorcyclist was traveling beyond the posted speed limit of 45 mph as he rode across all westbound traffic lanes around slower-moving vehicles.
Tucson police said on March 12, the Medical Examiner reported that Kershaw passed away while still receiving treatment in the hospital.
