Motorcyclist Anthony Rodriguez Dies After Colliding with Pickup Truck at Sycamore Street and Maple Avenue

Motorcyclist Killed in Hesperia Crash at Sycamore St and Maple Ave Identified

Hesperia, California: 22-year-old Anthony J. Rodriguez from Victorville died in a motorcycle crash that happened Tuesday evening at an intersection in Hesperia, the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office said.

The accident was reported around 7:17 p.m. at Sycamore Street and Maple Avenue.

Rodriguez was riding a red and black 2018 Suzuki GSX northbound on Maple Avenue, and the driver of a black GMC Sierra was traveling on Sycamore Street.

The pickup truck driver started making a left turn onto southbound Maple Avenue when the motorcycle and the pickup truck collided.

Rodriguez suffered major injuries in the accident. Several bystanders performed CPR on the rider until emergency personnel arrived and took him to Desert Valley Hospital. Rodriguez later died while receiving treatment.

The pickup truck driver was not hurt.

Investigators closed the intersection for several hours during an investigation. As the authorities investigated, three vehicles bypassed the patrol vehicle and entered the accident scene. The drivers were cited, and two of the cars were towed away.
