Motorcyclist Killed in St. Johns Crash on North Marine Dr, Portland

Portland, Oregon: A motorcyclist died after colliding with a car late Saturday night in Portland’s St. Johns neighborhood.

The incident was reported at around 11:37 p.m. on North Marine Drive and North Bybee Lake Road.

First responders found a motorcycle that had collided into the side of an SUV.

The rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

The SUV had two occupants, and none was seriously injured. An ambulance was requested to respond and evaluate the victims. The ambulance was significantly delayed due to an illegal street takeover at North Marine Drive and the Interstate 5 interchange that blocked all traffic lanes.

The ambulance had to divert and use the long way around North Columbia Boulevard past Kelley Point to approach from the west.

Paramedics treated the SUV occupants at the scene.

North Marine Drive was closed between North Leadbetter Road and North Portland Road as the Portland Police Traffic Division Major Crash Team investigated.
