Motorcyclist Killed in Traffic Collision in Southwest Bakersfield

Bakersfield, California: A woman died in a Wednesday morning traffic collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV that happened in Bakersfield.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the wreck was reported around 11:28 a.m. in the 5500 block of Ming Avenue.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found a woman down in the roadway with major injuries.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she died from her injuries.

The driver of the SUV cooperated with investigators.

According to the investigators, the woman was riding a motorcycle westbound on Ming when the driver of the SUV made a left turn from eastbound Ming, and the vehicles collided.

Police do not suspect alcohol or drugs played a role.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
