Motorcyclist Killed in Williams Crash on Highway 20

Colusa County, California: A motorcyclist is dead, and a driver seriously injured after a head-on collision that happened Thursday afternoon about seven miles west of Williams.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred at around 4:30 p.m. on Highway 20.

Officers said a 24-year-old motorcyclist was traveling eastbound when he attempted to overtake another car by shifting into the westbound lane.

Authorities said that is when the motorcyclist collided head-on with a van traveling westbound with four passengers on board.

The rider was killed in the crash.

The driver of the van sustained major injuries, including a head injury. The passengers suffered minor injuries.

Highway 20 was closed in both directions, and traffic was being directed eastbound at Walnut and westbound at Camp Road.
