Omar Romero Injured in Lake County Pedestrian Accident on SR 20
Lake County, California – 27-year-old Omar Romero, of Lakeport, was seriously injured after being struck by a car on Wednesday night in Lake County.
The fatal auto-pedestrian accident happened on Highway 20 east of Bridge Arbor Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Clear Lake Area office.
Romero was walking south and was within the eastbound lanes and was struck by a blue SUV driven by Oscar Rosas, 45.
Romero suffered major injuries and was transported to Sutter Lakeside Hospital in Lakeport.
Rosas drove away from the scene but turned himself in on Thursday and subsequently was arrested for felony hit and run.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
