One Person Airlifted after Head-On Collision on Highway 395 in Hesperia

Hesperia, CA. – One person was airlifted to the hospital after a head-on accident that happened Friday morning on Highway 395 in Hesperia.

The San Bernardino County firefighters responded to the scene in the northbound lane of the highway between Poplar Street and Main Street after the crash had occurred around 7:30 a.m.

The firefighters found an older model gold-colored Toyota Camry and a gray Mitsubishi Mirage involved in the crash. Both vehicles had major front-end damage.

One person sustained critical injuries and another suffered minor injuries.

Firefighters requested an air ambulance and two ground ambulances to respond to the scene.

A Mercy Air helicopter landed at Bishop and Poplar Street and transported the critically hurt patient to an out-of-area trauma center.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
