One Person Killed in Coalinga Crash on Highway 269 near Jayne Avenue
Coalinga, California – One person died in a two-car accident on Sunday morning in Coalinga.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on the northbound side of Highway 269 near Jayne Avenue at around 8 a.m.
A Hyundai Accent was traveling southbound on Highway 269 and had stopped for a posted sign at Jayne Avenue.
At the same time, a Toyota Corolla was traveling northbound approaching the intersection when it failed to stop at the posted sign.
CHP said the driver of the Toyota crossed from the northbound lane into the southbound lane and crashed into the front side of the Hyundai.
The driver of the Hyundai was killed in the crash.
No additional details about the accident were provided.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
