One Person Suffers Major Injuries in Truck Accident on SR-4 in Antioch
Antioch, California: One person was seriously injured in a car accident that happened Wednesday morning on State Route 4 in Antioch.
The California Highway Patrol said the collision took place around 5:52 a.m. in the eastbound lanes just east of Hillcrest Avenue off-ramp.
A big rig and a box truck were involved in the crash.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and transported one person to the hospital with major injuries, including a head injury.
About 40 gallons of diesel leaked into the roadway. Caltrans and personnel from the Contra Costa County Hazardous Material Division responded to the scene to clean the roadway.
Both vehicles were towed away from the scene.
