Passenger Killed in Suspected DUI Crash on Hwy 89 in Flagstaff

Flagstaff, Arizona: One person was killed in a suspected DUI accident that happened Tuesday in Flagstaff, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.

The wreck occurred on Highway 89 near mile marker 439.

According to DPS, a sedan was traveling northbound when it was hit from behind by another car.

The vehicle crossed the median and southbound lanes before overturning several times. The sedan also rolled several times.

A passenger in the sedan died at the scene.

Both drivers were transported to Flagstaff Medical Center for their injuries.

Authorities said it was likely that intoxication contributed to the accident.

An investigation is ongoing.
