Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Highway 50 in Sacramento
Sacramento, California: A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle early Wednesday morning on Highway 50 in Sacramento.
The California Highway Patrol said the crash occurred around 5:20 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the highway just east of 16th Street.
Firefighters responded to the scene and found a pedestrian suffering from fatal injuries. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities did not immediately determine what transpired leading to the accident but an investigation is ongoing.
