Pedestrian Hit and Killed by Car at 51st Ave and Thomas Rd in Phoenix
Phoenix, Arizona: A pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle Thursday morning in Phoenix was identified as 41-year-old Jose Gomez.
Police received reports of an auto-pedestrian accident just before 5 a.m. near 51st Avenue and Thomas Road.
Emergency personnel responded and pronounced Gomez dead at the scene.
Authorities believe the pedestrian was crossing the street mid-block when the collision happened.
The car driver remained at the scene after the crash. Police do not believe the driver was impaired.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
