Atascadero, California: A pedestrian died after he was struck by a vehicle Friday night in Atascadero, authorities said.
The accident took place at about 8:30 p.m. on El Camino Real near San Gabriel Road.
A man was hit by a car under unclear circumstances.
Responding police and firefighters found the victim unresponsive.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators closed El Camino Real for about two hours during the investigation.
