Pedestrian Hit and Killed by Vehicle in Citrus Heights
Citrus Heights, California: A man died after he was hit by a vehicle Tuesday evening near an intersection in Citrus Heights, police said.
The Citrus Heights Police Department said the accident happened at about 8:20 p.m. at Antelope Road and Auburn Boulevard.
According to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, a car struck a man, several utility poles, and a traffic light under unclear circumstances.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene after life-saving measures failed.
The driver of the car involved was not hurt.
Eastbound Antelope Road was closed west of Auburn Boulevard and east of Laupe Lane following the accident.
