Peoria, Arizona: A pedestrian was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a car Wednesday morning in Peoria.
Police responded to the area of 75th and Peoria avenues, where the accident was reported around 7:30 a.m.
The officers found a pedestrian with serious injuries.
Medical personnel responded and took the victim to the hospital for treatment. The injuries were considered life-threatening.
The driver involved remained at the scene.
Peoria Avenue was shut down between 75th Avenue and 73rd Drive for several hours during an investigation.
