Pedestrian Sustains Serious Injuries in Car Crash in Otay Mesa

San Diego, California: A pedestrian was hospitalized with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle Friday evening in Otay Mesa.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision occurred around 7:49 p.m. in the 1200 block of Picador Boulevard.

A 25-year-old man was driving a 2017 Dodge Ram out of a parking lot on the west side of Picador Boulevard when he struck a 34-year-old man walking west across the street.

The pedestrian suffered a fractured pelvis. Emergency personnel transported the victim to UC San Diego Hospital for treatment. His injuries are considered non-life-threatening injuries.

Impairment was not a contributing factor.
