Pendleton Man Killed in Mission Car Crash on Highway 11
Mission, Oregon: 76-year-old Douglas Jack McEwen died in a two-vehicle collision that happened Sunday afternoon in Mission.
The Pendleton man was driving a Chevrolet Silverado when he collided with a Ford Excursion at around 1:47 p.m. on Highway 11 near Highway 331.
Police officers said McEwen was traveling southbound on the highway when he attempted to make a left turn onto Highway 331 and failed to yield to the northbound Ford.
The vehicles collided head-on.
McEwen died in the crash. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The driver of the Ford was hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
