Person in Wheelchair Dies in Sacramento Pedestrian Accident at Laurine Way and Lawrence Drive
Sacramento, California – A man in a wheelchair was killed and a woman seriously injured in a pedestrian accident early Tuesday morning in Sacramento.
According to the authorities, the fatal accident happened around 4:30 a.m. on Fruitridge Road between Laurine Way and Lawrence Drive.
A man was in a wheelchair and a woman was pushing him when they were struck by a white pickup truck.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene while the woman was taken to UC Davis Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the pickup stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
Alcohol and drugs did not appear to be factors in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
