Phoenix Man Killed in Fiery Wrong-Way Crash on I-10 Freeway Identified

Phoenix, Arizona – A man who died in a fiery crash involving a wrong-way driver early Sunday morning in Phoenix has been identified.

At around 3:22 in the morning, the Arizona Department of Public Safety received reports of a vehicle traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-10.

A short time later, the wrong-way driver collided head-on with another vehicle at the tunnel near 19th Avenue.

Both cars caught fire after the collision killing the wrong-way driver, who was later identified as a 25-year-old Texas man.

The driver of the second vehicle, 30-year-old Romarye Kenneth Stiger, was also killed in the accident. His family says he was on his way to his mom’s house when the accident happened.

A third car struck the wrong-way vehicle, and three occupants were transported to the hospital for treatment in critical condition.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
