San Jose, California – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly suspected DUI collision that killed a San Jose Police Department officer on Saturday night in San Jose.
The accident occurred at Palm Avenue and Monterey Road on August 3.
Officials said two Community Service Officers (CSOs) under SJPD were hit at the intersection as they were conducting a traffic stop at the junction.
One officer died following the collision.
A second officer sustained severe injuries and is expected to survive.
No additional information concerning this collision was provided.
The incident remains under investigation.
